Named after Elizabeth Eckford, one of the "Little Rock Nine", Elizabeth was one of the first nine Black students to attend a previously all-white school in Arkansas in 1957. She helped shatter the racial boundaries Black people faced and continue to fight for.
Elizabeth was tormented during her time at school causing her multiple suicide attempts and a life of mental health issues. I honour her and the sacrifice she made by naming this necklace for her.
